Tomb

A tomb is a place where a dead person is buried. In Bible times, many people were buried in caves or tombs cut into rock (Isaiah 22:16). Families often used the same tomb for several generations (2 Samuel 2:32).

After Jesus died, Joseph of Arimathea placed his body in a new tomb cut into rock (Matthew 27:57–60).
