Can I use Gift Aid?

You can, provided you are a UK taxpayer and you have paid at least as much Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in the tax year as all the charities and community amateur sports clubs you support will reclaim on your gifts.

It is your responsibility to pay any difference if you have not paid enough tax. Council Tax and VAT do not count.

How do I set it up?

You make a Gift Aid declaration when you give through Stewardship. There's a tick box during the giving process. You only need to do it once; it then applies to your future gifts, and can cover gifts made in the previous four years.

Your declaration and details are held securely by Stewardship, who handle the HMRC claim on our behalf. Nothing about your tax status is stored in this app.

Please tell us if you change name or address, no longer pay enough tax, or wish to cancel your declaration. Full guidance is available on the GOV.UK website.

Clearspring Church is a registered charity (CIO no. 1201405).
