Books worth reading

A starting shelf, whatever stage you're at.

A short list rather than a long one, because a long list is easy to ignore.

**If you're exploring** Look for accessible books that take questions seriously rather than brushing them aside. Ask one of the leaders what they'd suggest for where you actually are — a recommendation aimed at you beats a bestseller list.

**If you're new to faith** Something short on the basics of prayer, Bible reading, and church. Ask about what's used in our membership course.

**If you want to go deeper** A good one-volume Bible handbook or study Bible is worth more than several paperbacks. It'll serve you for years.

**On difficult seasons** There is very good writing on grief, doubt and suffering from people who have been through it. Ask — someone here will have a copy to lend.

Note for church staff: replace this with your actual recommendations, with links to buy or borrow. A short, specific list from people your congregation trusts is far more useful than a generic one.
