Isn’t the church full of hypocrites?
Sometimes, sadly, yes. Christians have done real harm, and that should never be excused. Where the church has failed, Christians should be the first to say so and put it right.
But the church was never meant to be a club for good people. Jesus said he came “not to call the righteous, but sinners”. The church is more like a hospital than a museum: it’s full of people who know they need help.
Judge Jesus by Jesus, not by his followers. And if you come, you’ll find people trying, and failing, and being forgiven, just like everyone else.
From the Bible
When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Mark 2:17
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
