Sharing your faith

You don’t need to be an expert. Most people come to faith through a friend who cared about them, prayed for them and was honest about Jesus.

Pray for five

Write down up to five people you’d love to know Jesus. They’ll go on your prayer list, so you remember to pray for them.

Six simple habits

1. Pray first

Pray for a few people by name, every day. Ask God for opportunities, and for courage when they come.

2. Be a friend

Most people come to faith through a friend. Be interested in people for their own sake, not as a project.

3. Listen

Ask good questions and really listen to the answers. People open up when they feel heard.

4. Tell your story

You don’t have to win arguments. Just tell what Jesus has done for you, honestly.

5. Answer honestly

It’s fine to say “I don’t know, but I’ll find out.” Then find out together.

6. Invite

“Come and see” is still the best invitation: to church on Sunday, to a meal, to a course.
