🌊 Overwhelmed

When everything is too much, the Psalms point to a rock that is higher than we are.

1Hear my cry, God. Listen to my prayer. 2From the end of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3For you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower from the enemy.

Psalm 61:1–3

1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; 3though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah.

Psalm 46:1–3

8We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; 9pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed;

2 Corinthians 4:8–9

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.

Isaiah 43:2

Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22
