Big questions

Aren’t all religions the same?

Religions share some things, like the call to be kind and the sense that there is more to life. But they make very different claims about God, about what’s wrong with us and about how it’s put right. They can’t all be true in the same way.

What makes Christianity different is grace. Most ways of thinking say, in effect, “do this and you’ll be accepted.” Christianity says: you can’t do enough, so God has done it for you in Jesus.

Christians should treat people of every faith with respect and love. And we’re honest that Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father, except through me.”

From the Bible

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

John 14:6

There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

Acts 4:12
